My Therapy Work

I am an integrative therapist who stays Person Centred, meaning that I don’t go into sessions with my own agenda. Instead, I stay entirely focused on what you want to bring and then use my knowledge of different theories and methodologies to help you make sense of whatever you’re going through.

Top Five Uses for Therapy

1. Feeling Stuck

In the first session, countless people say, “I don’t know why I’m here, but I know I need to be.” It’s a brave step to reach out and attend when you’re uncertain, but it’s a sign that something inside needs addressing, and talking therapy is a great way to identify what that is.

2. Key Life Events

Many things happen that can knock a person sideways. Whether it’s the death or illness of a loved-one, the unexpected loss of a job, or a diagnosis that changes our lives. Sitting with a dedicated professional who is there to listen can help find a way forward during such challenging times.

3. Addressing the Past

The things that happen in our formative years have a lasting impact on who we are as adults. Once a person is ready to analyse this, it can lead to a significantly better understanding of who we are, why we feel the way we feel, and why we do the things we do. Sometimes this understanding alone can help to achieve change.

4. Managing Moods and Actions

Understanding your feelings and what drives any cyclical behaviour is a great way to highlight ways of changing it. To seek ways of being kinder to yourself and the people around you, talking therapy can help create calmness and stability in your life.

5. Setting Goals and Objectives

Although therapy should not be confused with coaching, clients seeking to set goals and find the motivation to achieve them could find sessions useful for crystalising what they want - personally or professionally - and generating a plan to succeed.

Testimonials

The work I do with each of my clients is completely unique and we always work together as a team. Here’s what some of them have to say . . .

I felt so nervous when enquiring about therapy, but Jody made me comfortable from start to finish.

My sessions with Jody helped me learn and understand a lot about my complicated feelings towards masculinity, which turns out was affecting me every day.

My time with Jody reminded me that warm and positive relationships with men can exist, which was something I’d started to question.

Jody’s calmness and professionalism radiated through every session, and I felt so much lighter come the end.

Being seen and heard in such a dedicated manner really gave me the encouragement needed to explore big feelings that I’d buried for years.

I do my best to keep sessions affordable, as I don’t believe cost should be a barrier when seeking support.
