About Me

I have worked as a writer for over 20-years, but in the 2019 pandemic, all of my projects came to an immediate end. This provided me with the opportunity to begin training as a therapist, and I now feel blessed to have a career that blends two of my deepest passions together - writing and helping people.

My Story

I grew up in Barnstaple in North Devon, where I lived until the age of 20. I then lived in London for twenty years.

I moved back to Devon when my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and his death had a big influence on my work as both a writer and a therapist.

I have a daughter, who makes me incredibly proud every day, and I’ve worked hard to seek a good work/life balance.

I am a published author and a fully credited screenwriter, but I find my work as a therapist to be the most rewarding thing that I do.

My Specialty

As the youngest of a big family, I was always intrigued by character dynamics. I asked myself how each of my siblings could be so different, and how, when we described our parents, it sounded like we were talking about completely different people.

I was fascinated by what shapes our views of the world – something I have explored for over two decades as a writer – so I guess it made sense that I’d one day become a therapist, too.

I am deeply interested in what drives our behaviour. I love having deep conversations and working out what causes good and bad cycles in how we act, which is useful as both a writer and a therapist.
