About me and my therapy practice

I am a kind and polite person who offers warmth, relatability, and reliability.

I start sessions by focusing on whatever you might want to bring, and if we have spare time once that’s covered, I will always have a plan for what else we can explore together.

If you know what you want to discuss, that’s great. If not, we can figure it out by:

  • Discussing your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and recurring patterns of life
  • Talking about what you want and need, and whether you feel anything is missing
  • Exploring incongruence between how you think you should feel, and how you actually feel

I have much lived-experience of many difficult phases that occur in life, such as dealing with grief and loss, and combating isolation and stagnation. I can support you by speaking openly to find the best way forward.

My approach is warm and supportive. I’ll ask meaningful questions, share genuine reflections, and work alongside you, ensuring we work at your own pace.

Practice description

I am an integrative therapist who stays person-centred, meaning I am always led by you and that I bring in the methods and theories I believe will work best for you. I am empathic, caring, calm and considerate, and I pride myself on being easy to talk to.

Outside of therapy, I am a writer and a trainer, which means I have transferable skills in creativity and communication that can help enhance the quality of our sessions.

I am acutely aware of how difficult it can be to reach out initially, so I offer a free 20-30 minute consultation call, which can be held online or on the phone. This allows you to ask any questions and also to see if you feel comfortable talking to me.

Our first session

I work to ensure our first therapy session is as gentle as possible. I cover any essential information that you need to know, then I will discuss – or rather “contract” – the way I propose we work together. The contracting is also done gently and I encourage it to be a collaborative process if there are things you would like to modify.

We’ll then discuss what has brought you to therapy, along with what hopes and expectations you might have for the settings, and we can even discuss setting goals if you feel that would be useful.

There is no “one size fits all” approach with therapy, so we will consistently move at your own pace and comfort.
